Start with a quality dry dog food base – we have found the Costco brand of puppy or adult dog food to be of great quality and exceptional value due to the fact that they have no corn or wheat, both of which contain gluten which is very hard for dogs to digest.
A 20 lb bag of puppy food is $9.99.
Use a fourth of a cup less dog food than you usually use (don’t want to see your cute little pup get fat)!
Add to the dry dog food the following:
1/2 (1/4 every other day for the boys) clove fresh grated Garlic (natural Antibiotic & Antioxidant)
1/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper (Wonderful for the heart)
1 Egg -well blended (Makes for a great coat)
1 dried Egg Shell -blended to powder in a coffee grinder (For essential minerals)
1-2 tsp. fish oil -or a spoonful of canned tuna or salmon (Those essential oils!)
Mix well – it may take some time for your dogs to get used to the new diet, try adding an extra egg then slowly reducing the amount till they are used to the new food.
We usually add more eggs for pregnant and nursing dogs, and feed them and the puppies 3 times a day.
Call me in about 2 weeks and let me know how your Yorkie has improved!
